The Rhode Island Comedy Hall of Fame was created in August 2011 by RI comedian, Rockin’ Joe Hebert.
The mission of The Rhode Island Comedy Hall of Fame is to recognize those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Rhode Island comedy. Before The RICHOF, there were no accolades or awards bestowed upon those who have improved upon, supported, created, written or performed comedy in the Ocean State.
Says Rockin’ Joe, “It’s time we started to honor those who have not only inspired others, but made us laugh while doing so.”
The first induction ceremony took place at Catch a Rising Star Comedy Club, Twin River Casino, Lincoln, RI on March 31, 2012. State Jester, Charlie Hall was the first inductee into the RI Comedy Hall of Fame with a comedy roast held in his honor.
